Hello everyone, i am here to share with you my project and hope you enjoy it.

For the beginning i show you some photos of the central part of the undercarriage, i still have to make some machining...

The hydraulic rotary manifold,

The freewheel with sliders and the support,

And the assembly,

See you soon!

Hallo Enrico,

very good work from you! I am waiting for more pictures. The parts you show us, are perfect.

Matthias

Thank you Matthias, nice to meet you.

Here some other pictures of the rotary Platform, the first model of the chain link and a cylinder.

Goodbye everyone!

Hi Enrico,

do you`ve pictures how the hydr. rotary union was built? Also wanna see the hydraulic motor details in the drive train!

The chainlinks looks good but why there are no holes in the shoes? This could be a problem when driving through dirt because the sprocket will press the dirt more and more into the link.

Hello Markus, nice to meet you.
The rotary union is quite simple, below i show you a general scheme, in my model is the same.

Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, hope is enough to understand.

The hydraulic motor is of the orbital type, has 7,8 cm^3 of displacement and no drain...

And this is my little test bench.

The problem of the dirt that packs into the chain links is well known but i have designed the links to have the maximum strenght and the middle section with that holes is too much thin (i think that but maybe i'm wrong). In the next posts you will see the complete chain that is slightly different from the first model and i will explain how i hope to minimize the dirt problem.

See you soon!

This looks amazing, Erik!
The overlap on the tread plates looks super-realistic!

Hello everyone,

i have a new step in the construction, i have built the prototype of the open centre valve and started to test it.

The system working pressure is 22 Atm, the relief pressure is 2-3 Atm, relief current drain is 1,5-1,8 Amps and the pump run with 20% of gas. The center dead-zone of the valve is 4° per side and in zero position the cylinder is well locked and the force needed to rotate the valve is not much, so i am satisfied. I show you two photos and a video....

In a few days i hope to do some tests with the load on the cylinder.
See you soon, bye. fröhlich

Enrico.
